East is East, and West is West: Education’s Where They Meet! with Jay Howden This presentation offers one school teacher’s view of the astounding enterprise that EDUCATION genuinely *is*. After decades in Canadian schools, Jay worked with Chinese university students to improve their English and their understanding of “Western Culture”, broadly understood. The strengths and weaknesses of educational systems, East and West, will start us pondering the nature and practice of education. What do we think we’re doing: in our own life’s learning, in our communities and schools, and as a global population seeking what it means to be a planetary family? This is Education, writ LARGE.
