The Wisdom of Crowds: Collective Decision-making in an Uncertain World Former New Yorker business columnist James Surowiecki’s deeply-researched and fascinating book, ‘The Wisdom of Crowds’ explores how groups of people who meet certain conditions can be better at solving problems, coming up with new solutions, making more effective and successful decisions, and predicting the future, than even trained experts. Surowiecki offers us many case studies from diverse disciplines such as psychology, behavioural economics, military history and politics to illustrate the veracity of his theory. This is a theory that has stood up well over the 17 years since the book was first published.
